What does Mongolian Beef taste like?

In case you never tasted Mongolian Beef before – simply put, it’s tender cuts of flank steak that gets simmered in a sticky savory and slightly sweet sauce. And like anything else you make in your slow cooker, the beef is so tender and delicious. Since I like spicy foods, I do add a couple dried red chilies, but you can definitely leave them out. They don’t add a ton of heat, but they do add a substantial amount of zing.

And if you are on the WW Program, you can really load this recipe up with 0 Point vegetables for added fiber to keep you full.

What is the difference between Korean Beef vs. Mongolian Beef?

You may have had Korean Beef before which is totally different than Mongolian Beef. How? Well, Korean Beef is made with ground beef instead of flank steak. And it has the addition of sesame oil in the recipe – which is a mainstay ingredient in most Asian cooking.

What is the difference between Hunan Beef and Mongolian Beef?

Hunan Beef usually has the addition of fermented black beans or a similar bean sauce in the recipe and Mongolian Beef does not.

What is the difference between Szechuan Beef and Mongolian Beef?

Actually, I love Szechuan Beef too. Why? Because it’s usually super spicy due to the Szechuan Peppercorns compared to the savory sweet Mongolian Beef. Also, the always expensive Beef Tenderloin is used in Szechuan Beef instead of Flank Steak.
