What is the top speed of the RC51 SP1? ›

The Honda VTR1000 SP1 and SP2 are dedicated sports bikes which replaced the RVF750R RC45. They are powered by a Euro 1 compliant liquid cooled 999 cc 90° V-Twin four stroke engine, producing 134.1 bhp at 9,500 rpm and maximum torque at 8,000 rpm.

HRC= Honda Racing Corp. The 51 has nothing to do with displacement, just Honda's number they assigned to the One Liter Ducati Eater.

With 136 hp on tap at 9,500 rpm and 105 Nm (77 lb-ft) of torque at 8,000 rpm, the engine transferred the power to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission, launching the bike to a top speed of 271 kph (171 mph).

The RC51 has some extremely tall gearing, according to calculations & actual tests it is capable of speeds close to 75mph in 1st gear.
